22 Adventures In Refreshing Your Life: The Stay-At-Home Sabbatical

Things Are Looking Up!

Things Are Looking Up!

Sabbaticals.  Remember that word.

Winter getting you down?  Feeling disconnected from your essence, from your joy in living, from what’s important to you?  Want to go on a winter break but don’t have the funds, the time, or the means to make it happen?  What can you do besides cross off each day on your calendar that stands between you and spring?

Sabbaticals.  There’s that word again!  What are they?  Who takes them?  Why do people take them?  Can you take them if you don’t have tons of extra money?

No worries!  I invite you to join me, from the comfort of your own home and for less than the price of one night in a luxury hotel, on a 22 day online sabbatical.  A sabbatical is a rest (a sabbath, if you will), for the soul.

I know about sabbaticals.  I took one in the fall of 2014,  a time when my senior dog was collapsing and not eating.  Most people would go to the vet.  I would have done that if I believed it was a health issue.  Instead, I sensed I was doing something that was hurting her.  I didn’t know what that was, and I asked for a sign.  I passed a sign outside a church that said, “Seek God.”  My sign was really a sign.  Thanks to continuing my recovery from stroke damage, Laila’s health and changing life circumstances, I haven’t traveled in years.  How was I to take a sabbatical if I wasn’t going to go anywhere?

Easy.  I invented a stay-at-home sabbatical. Without changing anything else in her life or in my life, she stopped collapsing and began eating.   I believe I had seven more months with her because I took a sabbatical.  I felt lighter.  I felt more connected to what was true for me.  I felt happier.

Taking the sabbatical made such a profound difference in my life that I decided to create an online version for us to take together.  I plan to offer this program each month.  I want you to experience the fun, the love, the blessings, and the service that helped both of us recover from serious illness.  Even if you’re not dealing with serious illness, and good for you if you’re not, I think we all need a short break from life each day, especially during these transitional times.  Yes?  Got 30 minutes each day from 1 February through 22 February?  Let’s do this together.
